Is it possible to make online income from the comfort of your own home?
For some, finding legitimate at home jobs seems like an inevitable scam… for others, you may have started some data entry or survey taking already and you haven’t made any money with them…
This can easily lead to frustration, and rightfully so… I encourage you to read ahead to avoid these types of false work from home jobs. Legitimate at home jobs do exist.
Note: Pre-pay/Work at Home Scams
“Although there are genuine jobs working at home, many “offers” are not valid forms of employment and may have the simple goal of obtaining an initial monetary investment from the victim. Using claims such as ‘be your own boss’ and ‘make money quickly’, Work at Home scams will not guarantee regular salaried employment and almost always require an “up-front” investment of money for products or instructions before explaining how the plan works.” – Monster.com
Actual “Job” vs. Work From Home…
The first thing you need to decide is that if you want a “job” where you are working on a project or getting paid by the hour from home or if you want to start your own company and work from home. Either route can lead you into a being the victim of a scam, but if you read this report, you should be able to avoid these.
If you are looking for a job from home, you’re only legitimate option is freelance work or doing customer service work by the hour for a legitimate company. Freelance work are projects you are hired to do, that usually involve writing articles, writing code (programming language), or doing graphic design. Freelance writing (non-code) involves writing articles, reports, papers, or ebooks on particular topics. Such websites as elance.com, rentacoder.com, and guru.com are good places to start.
If your goal is just to work from home then I recommend starting your own business. For this option, Internet Marketing in the by far the best thing to learn.
Making money with Internet Marketing is a fun, enjoyable experience and it give you a lot of flexibility.
Which Internet Marketing Programs Should I Stay Away From?
If you are planning on taking the Internet Marketing route, I recommend buying an ebook or classroom-type system to teach you the ropes from A-Z. Sure, you can learn everything for free with some creative Google searches and a lot of trial and error, but believe me, this is super frustrating. It’s much easier to have someone teach you how and hold you hand along the way. Some programs are scams, however. And by that I mean, they promise millions or thousands a day. Most of these will be Pyramid Schemes. The rest of the programs will teach you with an ebook, videos, or audio files for a price. I’ve bought ones from $47 all the way up to $1997. The ones I’ve gotten the most value out of have been in the $197-$497 range. I strongly suggest buying something from someone you trust, or buying something a friend has also bought and tried. Another great thing is that many of these products have money back guarantees. That way, you can try it for 30-60-90 days (or whatever the terms are) and return them if they don’t work or keep their promises.
I would caution you, however, to avoid getting in the trap of continually buying the newest products and never actually using them. Many many people are doing this. Do not do this… those who do are simply buying more and more really to avoid getting anything done… THIS IS NOT YOUR GOAL. Your goals is to follow the steps, and get results. Not read it and put it down (trust me, I’ve done it before, and it’s like spinning your wheels to the max).

Types of Illegitimate IM Product Offers and also “Online Jobs” to avoid
Things that promise “1,000 a day in 24 hours” or “5,000-10,000 per week right now with this system”
- These programs usually require a $1997 investment and don’t have a money-back-guarantee
- They often involve Multi-Level-Marketing or Network Marketing. MLM and Network Marketing are legal but require a lot of time, a lot of money, and you need to convince a TON of other people to do it with you. Not fun and borderline immoral.
Data entry jobs
- These ‘jobs’ are not jobs. They don’t pay you by the hour and do not promise a certain number of hours, and definitely won’t give you any sort of regular schedule.
- You’re better off working at McDonald’s
Paid Surveys
- I did one of these and spent probably 20-30 hours filling out forms and surveys and got $25. Does $1 an hour that comes 1-2 months later sound like a pile of money?
- You’re better off working at two McDonald’s
Illegitimate at home jobs often promise:
very low effort + low investment + low risk => lots of money
but usually cost a lot and deliver mere peanuts. According to one of the most respectable marketers on the Internet, Eben Pagan:
“Most of the people I know who are poor and would like to make some money have this expectation that they are going to goof around until they find a scheme, and they’re going to operate the scheme – and a large amount of money is going to show up and then they’re never going to have to work again
Whereas, all of the people I know that are very successful (these are all people who are self made millionaires or better)… none of them had it happen that way”
What Eben Pagan found out was that the successful people told themselves that they are going to figure something out and keep doing it until they get better and better. This creates more of an advantage and then they accumulate over time. This is how it really works…
